2018 Oscar® Nominated Short Films

The Frederick Film Festival (The F3) is proud to announce that it will be working with the Weinberg Center for the Arts in showing the 2018 Oscar® Nominated Short Film nominees in the ANIMATED,  LIVE ACTION, and DOCUMENTARY  categories on March 2 and 3 (the Friday and Saturday before the Academy Awards)

Unlike previous years, all the programs will be shown at the Weinberg, with the Animation and Live Action program on Friday night and the Documentary program on Saturday.

This is the only place you'll be able to see these Academy Award nominated films in a theater setting in Frederick.

On the first night we will be presenting the nominees in the Best Short Film: Animated and the Best Short Film: Live Action categories. These are some of the most popular, yet most difficult to see, films nominated by the Academy. Most of these films did not have a wide release and played primarily at film festivals.

The Best Short Film: Documentary  nominees tend to be longer than the other short film categories (the documentary program is the same length as the other two categories combined) , so expect a good long evening of great film at the Weinberg.

The Oscar ceremony will be broadcast on Sunday, March 4 on ABC.

More information about ALL the nominees can be found at the Academy's website:
